“Having been on a number of Project Expeditions tours now I’d have to add this 2023 Balkan adventure as up amongst the best. They sure know where to take you and what to see and do, making the best use of local knowledge and your precious time.
Traveling in a foreign country with unfamiliar languages, different foods, strange money and diverse cultures is a great deal easier when you invest with the team at Project Expeditions.
I will happily travel with them again as we enjoy the relaxed pace and value for money they provide.”

“James and I had a fantastic time on this Kenyan Safari designed by Project Expeditions and led by Rick Wood. The trip was so well organised, visiting sanctuaries, safari parks and even included a city tour of Dubai on our way to Kenya. The accommodation was very comfortable and we had the wonderful experience of luxury suites on the side of a river with a hippopotamus family opposite. The tour was a good length, great options including a hot air balloon ride and the animal life viewed on safari was magnificent. The group was small and like minded, we had a lot of laughs and thoroughly enjoyed our time. This was not our first Project Expedition trip and it won’t be our last. ”

“I have had the pleasure of travelling with Project Expeditions groups five times in the past ten years. Each and every trip has been an educational and fun experience. The professional and detailed organisation has made these trips totally enjoyable and stress free for me.
I would absolutely recommend Rick and his team to anyone and am looking forward with anticipation to the next two trips that my husband and I are booked on.”

“We have travelled with Project Expeditions to Iran 5 years ago and more recently to Bulgaria and Romania. Margaret and I enjoy many facets of small group travel with the organisation including the camaraderie of fellow Kiwis, the material content, the inspiration to travel to countries which are a little unknown and the seamless flow of the itinerary. We are able to experience much more with these itineraries than we would be able to achieve as solo travellers, and we look forward to our next adventure in Nagaland, NE India in a few months time.”

My wife and I have travelled with Project Expeditions many times to unique places in this world, beginning in 2007 when we visited Oman. We have always found that Rick and his team have arranged well organised tours through associates and when PE have accompanied us personally.
We have many fond memories of the places that we have explored or visited. When approached, Rick has arranged excellent private tours for us eg Galapagos, Easter Island, China and Indonesia
We were sorry that Covid 19 interrupted our plans to go with you to Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova and that we could not fit in the alternative date.
The trip to Slovenia, Croatia and Tunisia is one that we are really looking forward to and are sure that the same pleasant experience is waiting for us.

Rick became my travel agent some 30 or so years ago when he arranged the travel for the company I joined then. Since then it has developed into a great friendship.
What we like about Rick’s trips is that they are often to places off the beaten track – Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and the Caucasus. Despite these more remote places the trips have always gone well and over the years we continue to meet a number of the same people again and again. In fact we will get to meet a number when we head for Nagaland (NE India) in a couple of months. Would I/we recommend Rick/Project Expeditions to others? Whole heartedly, YES.
I have really enjoyed the trips we have done with Project Expeditions over the last ten years or so. As Clive says above, there are lot of repeat clients and we have got to know a few! The trips are well organised and we have seen many places only a few people have been to. Always comfortable, well provided for and interesting. I too heartily recommend Project Expeditions.

We have been on nine trips organised through Project Expeditions since 2010 covering such diverse countries as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Ecuador, (including Galapagos), and Chile, (including Easter island).
They have appealed because they are small, ( usually 15 to 18 people), and go to places that other operators do not usually cover. They are invariably well organised and well operated and represent excellent value for money.

We have travelled on the small group tours of Project Expeditions for over twenty years. Our diverse destinations have included, Asia, Europe, Mongolia twice, two African safaris and South America including the Galapagos Islands. Planning and communication leading up to them have always been very good. Project Expeditions takes great care in selecting local organisers, and manages to secure excellent itineraries and accommodation for modest prices. Our satisfaction is clearly echoed by the people we have met again and again on successive tours.
